Road to Home Workshop

Road to Home is a workshop that was designed to support participants in the Illawarra Region to be confident in looking and applying for different types of housing, how to sustain a tenancy and where to get help when needed.

Participants will learn how to apply for Social Housing and information on various FACS Housing NSW products, looking and applying for private rentals, How to sustain a tenancy with focus on budgeting and local support available in the Illawarra area. Participants will also work on a flow chart that identifies what support they have available to them. All participants will learn how to obtain, sustain and end a tenancy.

The information presented is very practical and easy to understand. Each participant will also take home a resource booklet that will assist them in their journey.

The course is Co-facilitated by SAHSSI and FACS Housing NSW with a Guest Speaker from the Illawarra Tenant’s Advice Service.

The course runs over two days from 9.30am-3.00pm with Morning Tea and lunch provided

Participants must complete both days to be considered for a RentStart Bond Loan pre-approval
