SAHSSI30 Story

SAHSSI30 is an opportunity to have fun, get fit and challenge yourself to a unique 30km round trip walk along the beautiful coastline of Jervis Bay to Iluka Beach Picnic Area while making a difference for women and kids who experience homelessness crisis in the Shoalhaven.

SAHSSI30 is a community driven grassroots fundraising event that first commenced in 2017 due to one individual community member’s vision to make a change. This vision has grown into an annual walk and has been supported by over 150 participants to date.

The vision for 2019 is to keep the conversation going – whether you are walking 30km, 15km, fundraising or simply wanting to donate, as a community let’s keep the conversation going!

The more people that know about this, the greater the impact, so please spread the word by sharing our page with your friends, colleagues and family. Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot!

This event is also proudly supported by Shoalhaven community, Country Women’s Association, HMAS Creswell and HMAS Albatross staff and volunteers.

The Registration Process – You Have Three Options!

Option 1: I Want to WALK and FUNDRAISE for the Fee
Fundraising for the fee can help to raise awareness and keep the conversation going either at your school, in your workplace, with your family or with your friends.

To help you with your fundraising and conversations about why you want to help SAHSSI and what we can all do to prevent homelessness and domestic and family violence we have developed the following resources for you:

STEP 1: Print off the above resources to get the conversations started – at this point you may wish to establish whether or not you are fundraising/walking as an individual or as a team!

STEP 2: Set yourself up as a fundraising team in everydayhero (refer to the instructions in the SAHSSI30 Fundraising Tool Kit). Please note that if you decide to walk as a team – each person in the team will be required to pay the fee. For Example: Joanne Bloggs Clothing Store wants to set up a team to support the event and 3 members of their workplace have agreed to walk while the rest help with fundraising. Because there are 3 walkers, the team’s fee and fundraising goal will be $100 fee x 3 = $300 (any extra fundraising is a bonus)!

STEP 3: When you have completed fundraising for the fees, each person walking (if you are part of a team) must complete the SAHSSI registration form.

Option 2: I Want to WALK but Don't Want to Fundraise the Fee

STEP 1: Pay the fee ($100 or $25 student or pensioner – tax deductible) via the SAHSSI donation portal by reading through all of instructions below first to ensure you don’t miss any important information (such as how to claim a receipt):

STEP 2: Go to the SAHSSI Donation Website Page and follow the steps below. After paying the fee, complete the SAHSSI registration form.

STEP 3: Enter amount ($100 or $25) and select Donate (if you want to donate with PayPal) or Donate with a Card (if you want to donate straight from a credit card)

STEP 4:

  • When you get to this screen – add a note to say SAHSSI30 and your name and your email address (so a registration confirmation and tax invoice can be emailed)
  • Alternatively, if you are happy to have your receipt and registration posted then tick the box to share your mailing address.

STEP 5: Don’t forget to complete the SAHSSI registration form.

Option 3: I Don't Want to Walk but I Do Want to FUNDRAISE
Fundraising for the fee can help to raise awareness and keep the conversation going either at your school, in your workplace, with your family or with your friends.

To help you with your fundraising and conversations about why you want to help SAHSSI and what we can all do to prevent homelessness and domestic and family violence we have developed the following resources for you:

STEP 2: Set yourself up as a fundraising team in everydayhero (refer to the instructions in the SAHSSI30 Fundraising Tool Kit) and good luck with any amount of fundraising you achieve – whether it’s big or small every dollar counts!
