SAHSSI is currently recruiting for the following positions:

Case Manager (Domestic and Family violence specialist); (Full time and part time roles) Illawarra

Case Manager (Domestic and Family violence specialist); (Full time and part time roles) Shoalhaven
All roles provide trauma informed, person centred, strengths and evidence-based care.
We will hold an information session on Friday 24 May 2024, and this will form the 1st stage of the interview process followed by formal interviews for select candidates. The information session is by invitation only.
If you have additional support needs to attend this session, please let us know and we will be happy to accommodate.
We will then recruit from the list for upcoming positions, some vacant now and some becoming vacant.

Skills and Experience:
-
Prior experience in working women who have experienced domestic and family violence (DFV), children and families OR extensive experience in another related field with transferable skills OR Lived experience with some work experience.

Ability to use an integrated, trauma-informed and strengths-based approach to achieve client outcomes, and manage crisis situations.

Sensitivity and respect for diversity and difference in both service users and colleagues.
-
Excellent communication using various mediums, interpersonal and advocacy skills.

Sound judgement and decision-making skills.

Current Working with Children Check and National Police Check.

NSW driver’s license and sound driving record.
3. Family Counsellor - Nowra
Part-time position 28 hours per week (Tues – Friday). Supporting children, young people and families impacted by Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) in the Shoalhaven. Fixed term contract to 30th June 2025.

Essential criteria:
• Tertiary qualifications in psychology or counselling (minimum diploma of counselling) with counselling experience. Registration with the ACA or the willingness to complete registration during employment
• Strong communication (written and verbal), technology, interpersonal and advocacy skills
• Ability to use an integrated, trauma-informed and strengths-based approach to achieve client, program and team outcomes, and manage crisis situations
• Sensitivity and respect for diversity and difference in both service users and colleagues
• Demonstrated professionalism including effective time management, taking personal responsibility, creativity and problem-solving capabilities and ability to work within an ethical and organisational policy framework.
• Ability to work independently to achieve the capabilities of the role and any other duties assigned by management
• Ability to work in a team including sharing information, considering the views of others and managing conflict
• Willingness to complete the “Working with Children Check” and “National Police Check NSW” at own cost
• NSW driver’s license and sound driving record
Desirable criteria:
• Prior experience in working therapeutically with survivors of trauma, domestic and family violence (DFV), children and families
• Holder of a current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain one)

- Casual Recruitment
SAHSSI is seeking Expressions of Interest from suitably qualified women who would like to be considered for relief casual work when it becomes available.
As a casual, you will be available to work as a Case Manager for block periods, this could be from 1 week up to 4 weeks. Positions include Crisis Accommodation Case Manager, and Outreach Case Manager for the Illawarra / Shoalhaven.
Successful applicants will have completed their Certificate IV Community Services (or equivalent), be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of domestic violence and its effects on women and children and have a demonstrated ability to work as part of a team to support individuals and /or families from diverse cultural and language backgrounds.
